Jessica Marie Alba (born April 28, 1981) is an American Hollywood movie actress. She is renowned as a beauty and is perhaps best known for her roles in Dark Angel, Sin City, Fantastic Four and Into the Blue. She's an absolute doll!

Jessica was born in Pomona, California to Mark Alba (who is of Mexican descent), and Cathy Jensen (who has French and Danish ancestry). Her maternal grandfather was a Marine noncom for 30 years, serving in the Pacific during WWII, and later as Asst. Drum Major for the United States Marine Band. Alba was raised in an Air Force family, along with her brother, Joshua Alba, and her grandparents until she was 17 years old. Her father's Air Force career took the family to Biloxi, Mississippi, and Del Rio, Texas, before they settled back in California.

Jessica suffered severe health problems as a young child this served to isolate her from other children at school because, as she claims, she was in the hospital so often that no one knew her well enough to befriend her. Her health improved, however, when her family moved to California.

She had expressed interest in acting since the age of five. She took her first acting class at age twelve, and an acting agent signed her nine months later.

She then ventured into smaller projects on the small screen, with commercials for Nintendo and J.C. Penney, and a recurring role in Nickelodeon's The Secret World of Alex Mack in 1994.

Following her Nickelodeon stint, Jessica, also a PADI-certified scuba diver, was cast as Maya in the 1995 series Flipper. During production of Flipper, Jessica was actually kidnapped after having received telephone threats. Thankfully, she was found unharmed in the trunk of a car.

While working with dolphins on the television series, Jessica was cast in the disastrous film Venus Rising, as well as the 1996 made-for-TV movie Too Soon for Jeff and an episode of Chicago Hope.

With Jessica's growing popularity on the Internet after her role in Flipper and her exotic looks (Jessica's ethnic background consists of Danish, French and Mexican), it's no wonder that James Cameron cast her as the lead role in his television series, Dark Angel. Nicknamed "Sky Angel," Jessica has been featured in Teen Magazine and Vanity Fair, and was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2001, for Best Actress in a Dramatic Television Series.

After a long engagement to her older co-star Michael Weatherly (Logan on Dark Angel) from 2001 to 2003, Alba was spotted with Mark Wahlberg and even made a cameo on Wahlberg's show Entourage in 2004.

The stunning actress claims her passionate teenage embraces were anything but romantic.

She told Seventeen magazine: "I was 12 years old and had to kiss this guy who was gross and never brushed his teeth.

"Then, at 14, I had to kiss a guy who was 32 or 33, and I was like, 'Ewww!' I didn't want to do it!"

However, the 'Sin City' beauty says her kissing experiences have since improved and her current boyfriend Cash Warren "is the best kisser in the world".

Jessica, 26, also admits she used to take protein powders to build up her muscle.

She revealed: "I used to be crazy, taking protein powders and eating high-protein, low-carb stuff - all that c**p - but that was when I was training for 'Dark Angel' and I had to keep a certain amount of muscle on.

"I don't have to anymore. Now I can have flabby arms and legs and it doesn't matter!"
